What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files that a website places on your device when you visit it. They help a website work properly, remember your choices, and give the site owner information about how the site is used. Similar technologies, such as pixels and tags, work in much the same way, and this policy covers them too.
Cookies can be first-party (set by GM EnerTech) or third-party (set by another company whose service we use). They can last only while your browser is open (session cookies) or stay on your device for a set period (persistent cookies).
Who we are
How we use cookies
We group the cookies and similar technologies on this site into three categories.
Strictly necessary
These are needed to run the site safely and to remember your cookie choice. They are always on, and they do not require your consent.
Analytics
These help us understand how visitors find and use the site, such as which pages are viewed and how long visits last, so we can fix problems and improve our content. They are used only if you allow them.
Marketing
These help us measure how well our advertising works and show our ads to people who may be interested in our services. They are used only if you allow them.
The cookies we use
The tables below list the cookies set by this site and by the services we use. Exact names can change when a provider updates its service, and we review this list regularly.
Strictly necessary
| Cookie | Provider | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
gm_consent | GM EnerTech (first-party) | Remembers your cookie choices so we do not ask you again on every visit. | 12 months |
_GRECAPTCHA | Google reCAPTCHA (third-party) | Protects our contact and booking forms and our login page from spam and automated abuse by checking that a real person is using them. | 6 months |
| WordPress login and settings cookies | GM EnerTech (first-party) | Used only when our own staff sign in to manage the website. Regular visitors do not receive them. | Session to 14 days |
Analytics (only with your permission)
| Cookie | Provider | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
_ga | Google Analytics (first-party cookie set by Google’s code) | Distinguishes one visitor from another so we can count visits and see how the site is used. | 2 years |
_ga_ followed by an identifier | Google Analytics | Keeps track of your session state so we can see how a visit moves through our pages. | 2 years |
Marketing (only with your permission)
| Cookie | Provider | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
_fbp | Meta Pixel (Meta Platforms) | Lets us measure actions taken on our site, such as a booking request or a phone call tap, after seeing our ads on Facebook or Instagram. | 90 days |
_fbc | Meta Pixel (Meta Platforms) | Stores information about an ad click that brought you to our site, so results can be matched to the right campaign. | 90 days |
Other services that receive technical data
Some services we use do not need a cookie but still receive basic technical information from your browser, such as your internet address (IP address), when your device loads content from them.
- Google Tag Manager. A tool that loads our analytics and marketing tags. It does not set cookies by itself, and it follows your cookie choices.
- Customer reviews widget (Trustindex). Displays Google reviews on our pages. Review text and profile pictures are loaded from Trustindex and Google servers.
- Hosting and content delivery. Our hosting provider and its content delivery network process technical request data to deliver pages quickly and securely.
- Fonts. We host our fonts on our own server, so your browser does not contact Google Fonts to display our text.
Information you type into our booking form is used only to respond to your request and is not stored in cookies.
Your choices
The first time you visit, a banner lets you accept all cookies, reject non-essential cookies, or choose by category. You can open these settings again at any time by selecting Cookie settings in the footer of any page, or with the button below. Your new choice replaces the previous one right away.
When we ask again
We keep your choice for 12 months. We will show the banner again after that time, and also if we add or change cookies in a way that affects your choice, so you can renew or update it.
Global Privacy Control
If your browser or device sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as a request to opt out of marketing cookies. In that case marketing cookies stay off, even if you select “Accept all.”
In your browser
Most browsers let you block or delete cookies in their settings. Please note that blocking strictly necessary cookies may stop parts of the site, such as our forms, from working correctly. Deleting cookies also removes your saved choice, so the banner will appear again.
Opt-out tools from providers and industry groups
Sharing information for advertising
When you allow marketing cookies, information about your visit, such as the pages you view and the actions you take, may be shared with Meta to measure and improve our advertising. Some privacy laws describe this as “sharing” for cross-context behavioral advertising. If you reject marketing cookies, or send a Global Privacy Control signal, we do not load the Meta Pixel, and no such information is shared.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Cookie Policy when we change the cookies or services we use, or when the law requires it. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last revised. If a change affects your choices, we will ask for them again.
